What is the number one challenge for 99% of people marketing their business online?
Care to take a guess?
Well, if you’ve been at this as long as I have you already know the answer.
That’s right, creating new content for your site (and other off-site “properties” as well).
And if you know even a fraction of what I do regarding SEO, you know that you need to have new and relevant content to keep competitive and get top rankings.
So what can you do?
Three Easy-as-Pie Ways to Create New Content
Remember the old Dominoes Pizza slogan… hot pizza delivered in 30 minutes or less or your money back, guaranteed!
Well, this is my version of their challenge.
Here’s the deal… I either currently use the strategies I’ll share with you here, or I’ve used them SUCCESSFULLY in the past.
And considering that I personally maintain more than a dozen websites, if I can do this so can you!
Alrighty then, in no particular order you can:
- Have a friend interview you and record the conversation
- Give a presentation and record the audio
- Read an article related to your expertise and respond to it by writing a “reply”
INTERVIEW
I suggest taking a friend (or business friend) out to lunch, and preferably one that doesn’t EXACTLY know what you do. And then ask them to ask you about what you do.
A friend will be kind enough to humor you (hopefully).
Then simply send the audio of the interview (talk) to a transcription service (we can help you find a good one) and whammo! you have an “article” that’s easy to edit.
PRESENTATION
Perhaps you are not comfortable giving presentations for your business.
Or maybe you don’t get many opportunities.
But if you do, or you are brave enough to make your “pitch” in front of people, I suggest you do it. And RECORD it.
Then you’ll take the same approach as #1, which is to get a transcript to edit.
What’s more you can also post the audio (or video!) if your presentation comes out great.
ARTICLE “RESPONSE”
Stuck for a topic.
Well, get stuck no longer. Go research for articles in your niche or area of expertise.
And as you read other people’s view and opinions, no doubt you’ll have plenty to say in response, either in support or to rebut their point of view.
Either way, you’ll get unstuck and you’ll have something meaningful to say.
Blog marketing tip: If your website is a blog, fill your “draft post” folder with tons of article ideas as they strike you. Right now I have 46 article ideas in my draft folder…
